RailLog Korea is ready at the platform for successful departure

Key players to showcase their latest achievements at the fair. Various events to offer expanded networking opportunities.

The upcoming RailLog Korea, the 9th edition of the Korea Railways & Logistics Fair, is ready to welcome railway industries from all over the world. From 12 to 15 June 2019, RailLog Korea 2019 is expected to feature 165 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center – BEXCO, Busan, South Korea.

Leading domestic rolling stock manufacturers such as Hyundai Rotem and Dawonsys are planning to exhibit their latest models of train vehicles at the fairground. Also, Korea’s railway organisations such as KORAIL, Korea Rail Network Authority (KRNA), Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI), Busan Transportation Corporation (Humetro), the Korea Railroad Association (KORASS) and the Korea Rolling Stock Industries Association (KORSIA) will actively participate in the show with their own booths.  

Hyundai Rotem Company, which will participate on the largest scale at RailLog Korea 2019, will showcase two EMUs which are exported abroad, as well as sharp curve running gear and the Hyundai infotainment system. As Korea’s top player, Hyundai Rotem has supplied various types of railway vehicles, including EMUs, high speed trains, LRVs, DMUs, locomotives, passenger coaches and freight wagons, to 36 countries across the world. It has expanded its business to integrated railway systems, which includes signalling, communications, electricity, PSD systems and vehicle maintenance, as well as rolling stock business.

Dawonsys will exhibit an EMU car of Seoul Metro Line #7 at the fair, together with inverter boxes, an auxiliary power supply (SIV) unit, Train Control and Monitoring Systems (TCMS), HVAC for passenger coaches, double converters and air purification systems.

SR is expected to present the latest high-speed SRT rolling stock and new generation high speed train, the EMU 320, as well as a railway service and operation system based on a future-oriented AI.

Busan Transportation Corporation, a public transportation operator, plans to publicise urban railways and provide a driving experience simulation programme for visitors.

Global players aim to use RailLog Korea as a stepping stone to advance into the Korean market

At RailLog Korea 2019, many notable international players such as Voith Turbo, Linsinger, Harting, Knorr-Bremse, Ricardo Rail, etc. will utilise the fair as a platform to present their latest products and technologies.

Mr Wang Xiaofang, Vice General Manager in charge of International Business, CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co Ltd, commented: “Korea is an important potential market and this fair is a very important platform for us to show our products and technology in order to open the Korean market. Besides, we have been in touch with the main Korean rolling stock manufacturers for a long time and hope to promote the potential projects progress through this fair”

“At RailLog Korea, we will showcase the TQ600 permanent magnet synchronous traction motor, the core power unit of high speed trains. Its application has enabled China's high speed railways to reach higher levels of environmental protection and energy conservation,” said Mr Chen Wei, Manager of International Business Depart, CRRC Zhuzhou Electric.

Mr Xie Fei, Marketing Manager of International Railway Transit Business CRRC Zhuzhou Electric, added: “We also exhibit TQ230 permanent magnet synchronous traction motor models for 120km/h metro cars, YQ625 asynchronous traction motor models installed in Chinese standard EMUs CRH400F with a speed of 350km/h, and Integrated Power System Assembly for electric vehicles.”

Following the previous shows in 2015 and 2017, the Austrian Pavilion will be presented again in 2019, organised by the Embassy of Austria Commercial Section – ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA.

Mr Franz Schroeder, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Austria Commercial Section, said: “For the third time in a row, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is joining RailLog with a country pavilion, after a successful 2015 and 2017 participation. Showcasing Austrian railway technologies at one of the world‘s largest railway shows offers a great opportunity for the exhibiting Austrian companies to meet with existing partners and to identify new customers.”

“The goal of the Austrian Pavilion is to showcase our technologies and to connect our companies with Korean as well as international potential partners.” Mr Schroeder added.

At the Pavilion, six Austrian companies are confirmed to join: Austroroll - Wieland Austria GmbH, Geislinger GmbH, KUVAG GmbH, NEXTSENSE GmbH, voestalpine SIGNALING Zeltweg GmbH and voestalpine VAE GmbH.

Various events to offer expanded networking opportunities

RailLog Korea 2019 will present a wealth of fringe programme events, which will provide exhibitors and visitors with a good opportunity to access major industrial topics and communities.

The list of events include the “Railcar Company Purchasing Plan & Processˮ presented by Hyundai Rotem, the “East-Asia Railway Network Talk Concertˮ by RailHope, the “RailLog Korea 2019 Business Meeting“ by KOTRA, the “Introduction of Railway Vehicle Fusion Parts Technology Centerˮ by Gyeongbuk Technopark and “RailLog Korea 2019 Job Fairˮ by BEPA and BEXCO.

KRRI will actively organise technical and industrial events, such as the “Development Plan of Railway Type Approval System and Railway Standardsˮ, the “9th KRRI-RTRI​ Technical Information Exchange for Railway Standardˮ and “A resurrection of modern TRAM in Koreaˮ.

Overseas organisations are also expected to use this exhibition as a venue for holding major seminars: The Indonesian Ministry of Transport will organise the “Market Sounding for Indonesian Railway PPP projects ˮ and MRT Jakarta will hold the “Corporate Investment Opportunities in Jakarta Mass Rapid Transitˮ.

In particular, Messe Frankfurt Korea and BEXCO are planning to offer a “Networking Receptionˮ, by inviting international and domestic exhibitors and buyers alike. In a casual atmosphere, finger foods, craft beer, performances, a giveaway lottery, etc. will be offered to all invitees to enhance global networking opportunities via RailLog Korea.
